Recipe: CBD Golden Milk
It’s kind of cool to realize that you can actually help your body become more receptive to CBD. We all have an endocannabinoid system (ECS) throughout your body. It’s main goal is to utilize cannabinoids like CBD to help keep your body functioning at it’s best. Eating a healthy diet, getting enough sleep and exercise are all ways to keep your ECS at it’s optimal best. Even certain foods are beneficial to help maintain your ECS. Some of my favorites are: eggs, chia seeds, dark chocolate, green tea, turmeric and green leafy vegetables.
One of the best ways to use turmeric is to drink a Golden Milk. Adding some full-spectrum CBD, gives this drink it’s true superpowers!
Turmeric, one of the ingredients in Golden Milk, helps the body’s endocannabinoid receptors become more active to readily utilize the CBD in the drink. This is a perfect combination of anti-inflammatory benefits and a delicious beverage.
1 cup unsweetened coconut milk
½ tsp dried turmeric
1 (½-inch) piece fresh ginger, thinly sliced
¼ tsp whole black peppercorns
1 serving CBD
*optional 1 tsp honey
In a small saucepan, whisk coconut milk, turmeric, ginger and peppercorns over medium-high heat. Bring to a boil and reduce heat to a simmer for 10 minutes.
Pour mixture through a sieve into a mug, add in CBD and stir well. Enjoy immediately.
